Since April of 1908, The Randall State Bank has proudly served our customers in Randall and the surrounding area. Throughout our history, we have stood shoulder to shoulder with our customers in times of economic challenges, like the Great Depression, as well as in times of prosperity. From our very beginning, our mission has been to be your home town bank by providing the quality service our customers deserve.

While the times may have changed, our mission has not. Today, we offer all the conveniences of the large banks such as internet banking, debit cards and free checking accounts just to mention a few. At the Randall State Bank, you can still expect that personal service that you can only receive from your friends at your home town bank. At the Randall State Bank, we are big enough to serve you, but small enough to know you.

Our Leadership

Rich Jones

President/Chairman

Rich has more than 17 years of banking experience, including senior bank management and commercial lending. As president, Rich oversees a dedicated team that prides itself on providing outstanding customer service to help meet the financial needs of their customers and communities. Rich is a native of the Brainerd Lakes Area, where he currently lives with his wife and two children. Rich served as the president for the Randall Area Business Group and is very involved in his children's sporting activities. Rich currently sits on the board of directors for the Brainerd Amateur Hockey Foundation. When not in the office Rich enjoys spending time with his family on the golf course or on the lake.

Dean Welle

VP/Cashier/Director

Dean joined Randall State Bank in 1980 and since that time has held many roles with the bank and the community. Dean is a true community banker and always has the best interest of the community and his customers in mind. Dean is currently the treasurer of the Randall and Cushing area lions club and just finished up an 8 year term on the community development board. When Dean is not banking, he enjoys spending time golfing and with his family.

AJ Johnson

SVP/Branch Manager - Randall

AJ joined Randall State bank in 2011 and has more than 9 years of lending experience. He graduated from the Minnesota School of Business and lives in Swanville with his wife and four boys. He is active in the Swanville Lions Club and served as the President during the 2014-2015 campaign. He was also an elected City Council Member for the City of Swanville from 2008 - 2015. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, sports and spending time with family.

Amanda Van Heel

AVP/Loan Administration Officer

Amanda joined Randall State Bank in 2001 after she earned her degree in Accounting from Alexandria Technical College. Amanda grew up in the Swanville area where she still lives with her three children. Amanda enjoys working with her customers and helping them meet there financial needs she also enjoys spending time with her family, playing games and shopping.

Matt Castle

Branch Manager - Brainerd

Matt joined the bank in 2018 bringing with him over 15 years of banking and real estate finance experience in the Brainerd Lakes Area, most recently as the Branch Manager and Sr. Underwriter for BlackRidgeBANK. Prior to starting his career in banking, Matt attended and graduated from the University of Minnesota, Duluth in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. In addition to his duties at the bank, Matt also serves on multiple local boards and event committees in the Brainerd Lakes Area. We are excited to have someone with Matt’s background and local ties to the Lakes Area join the bank.

Mike Worden

Chief Operating Officer

Mike joined Randall State Bank in April of 2017 as the banks Chief Operating Officer. Mike previously served 27 years with the Minnesota Army National Guard where he held multiple full-time leadership positions in both Operations and Budget Management. He most recently served as the Senior Enlisted Advisor at Camp Ripley Training Center. Mike completed his Masters in Business Administration at St. Cloud State University in 2015 and also holds two Bachelor's Degrees from the University of MN-Duluth in Finance and Economics. He lives in the Brainerd Lakes Area with his wife and two children and enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time.
